BeamApex Sporting Code & Racing Regulations
Standardized sim racing sporting guidelines enforced across all BeamApex BeamMP servers. Respect fellow competitors, leave racing room, and race hard but fair.
Leave One Car Width
Always give overlap room when cars are alongside before the braking zone.
No Moving Under Braking
Defend early on the straight. Reactive blocking under deceleration is strictly forbidden.
Parallel Safe Rejoin
Cars off-track must yield to oncoming traffic. Never cut perpendicular across the circuit.
Driver Code of Conduct & Respect
BeamApex is dedicated to providing high-fidelity, respectful multiplayer competition. All drivers must demonstrate sportsmanship on and off the circuit.
- Zero Tolerance for Intentional Wrecking: Any driver intentionally ramming, retaliating, or attempting to spin out another competitor will face an immediate, non-negotiable permanent ban.
- Respectful In-Game & Discord Communication: Toxicity, hate speech, or harassment directed at fellow racers or volunteer stewards will result in removal from the league.
- Vehicle Control: Drivers are expected to know their vehicle and track limits before joining ranked sprint and feature lobbies.
Overtaking Etiquette & Corner Rights
Clean passing requires trust between both the attacker and defender. The responsibility for executing a clean overtake primarily lies with the overtaking car.
- The Overlap Rule: To earn the right to racing room at the apex, the attacking car must establish significant overlap (front axle alongside the defending car's B-pillar / rear axle) before the turn-in point.
- The "Vortex of Danger": Late lunges into the blind spot of a car already committed to the corner apex are considered reckless divebombing. If contact ensues, the overtaking car will be judged at fault.
- Racing Room: If significant overlap is established before turn-in, both drivers are legally obligated to leave a minimum of one car width plus a small margin of error on the track surface.
Defending Lines & Deceleration Zones
Defending position is a core element of racing, but it must be performed predictably without endangering trailing vehicles.
- One Defensive Move: The leading car may make one distinct move to defend an inside line along a straight before the braking zone. Weaving across the track to break the aerodynamic tow is prohibited.
- No Reactive Blocking: Moving in direct reaction to the trailing car's swerve or move is classified as blocking and will incur a penalty.
- No Moving Under Braking: Once both cars enter the heavy braking zone, the defending driver must maintain a consistent, predictable trajectory. Altering your line under threshold braking frequently results in severe rear-end impacts.
Blue Flag Procedures & Lapped Traffic
During sprint and endurance races, faster lead-lap cars will encounter traffic. Blue flags indicate that a lead-lap vehicle is directly behind you.
- Predictable Trajectory: Lapped cars should hold their normal racing line around corners and facilitate the pass on the following straight.
- Facilitating the Pass: When the faster car pulls alongside on a straight, lift slightly off the throttle to allow a prompt, clean completion of the overtake.
- Do Not Defend: Lapped cars are strictly prohibited from vigorously defending track position against lead-lap vehicles.
Track Boundaries & Safe Rejoin Protocol
Respecting track limits ensures competitive lap time validity and prevents dangerous off-track cutting.
- Track Limits: A minimum of two wheels must remain within the solid white lines or curbing of the circuit surface at all times. Gaining an off-track lasting advantage requires yielding the position back.
- Unsafe Rejoin: If a vehicle spins or leaves the racing surface, the driver must wait for all approaching racing traffic to clear before returning to the track. Rejoining must be done parallel to the edge of the circuit in a predictable manner.
- Hold Brakes When Spinning: If your car enters an uncontrolled spin, hold down 100% brakes until the vehicle comes to a complete standstill. This ensures your motion is predictable to oncoming traffic attempting to avoid you.
Incident Stewarding & Safety Penalties
Our backend servers automatically monitor collision metrics, while human stewards review contested race incidents.
- Protests & Replays: Drivers involved in a controversial incident can submit a Discord stewarding ticket with timestamped video evidence within 24 hours of session end.
- Penalty Scale: Infractions carry escalating penalties: Warning → 5s/10s Time Penalty → Disqualification → Rating Demotion → Temporary/Permanent Suspension.
- Automated Rating Penalties: Consistent high-speed collision spikes trigger automated server rating deductions, temporarily restricting the driver to rookie sprint servers.
