To maximize top speed on the legendary long straights, cars run the lowest downforce aerodynamic packages of the entire season. While this results in blistering straight-line speeds, it makes the car incredibly nervous, unstable, and prone to severe lockups under heavy braking into the tight Rettifilo and Roggia chicanes.

Drivers must perfect their straight-line braking technique, hitting the pedal with maximum force before gingerly bleeding off to navigate the tight kerbs.
