Daytona International Speedway
Master the art of the slipstream on the high banks, or balance infield technicality on the grueling 24h road course.
Track Intelligence
This legendary venue forces drivers to master two entirely different disciplines depending on the layout. The Tri-oval requires highly specialized, asymmetrical low-drag setups where raw horsepower, bump-drafting, and absolute stability at 200+ mph on the massive 31-degree banking are everything. Lifting off the throttle is rarely an option; speed is found purely in the slipstream.
Conversely, the Road Course layout forces a massive, agonizing setup compromise. Teams must run enough aerodynamic wing to navigate the tight, flat infield sections and the heavy-braking Bus Stop chicane, while keeping drag low enough to avoid being easily passed on the oval segments. Precision trail braking from 190 mph down into Turn 1 is the most critical overtaking zone.
